The Trailmix.Net Scavenger Hunt
What is a Trailmix.Net Scavenger Hunt? Trailmix.Net Scavenger Hunts are outdoor scavenger hunts designed for families with children. Scavenger hunts bring a user to a unique location and present a story line with educational riddles. When the user solves all of the riddles, a completion code is generated. Entering the completion code into the Trailmix.Net website triggers the shipment of a collectable prize.
How do I license my Trailmix.Net Scavenger Hunt? Licensing a Trailmix.Net Scavenger hunt is a simple process that occurs in your profile. Click this link to watch a tutorial.
How do I access Scavenger Hunt Related items (GPX Files, KML Files, PDF files, etc)? Sometimes additional electronic files related to a Scavenger Hunt are placed in the “tools” section of the Trailmix.Net website. To access these, you must first license your product. Then, navigate to the tools page and download your files.

What Are the Trailmix.Net Scavenger Hunt Completion Prizes? Trailmix.Net completion awards are collectable coins that are minted for each Scavenger Hunt. Each coin series has it's own iconography and/or artwork that relates to its corresponding Scavenger Hunt. Completion Award Coins are shipped by Trailmix.Net only when specific completion requirements are met. Completion award requirements usually include the uploading of a project specific completion code and photographic proof of project completion which is described in the Scavenger Hunt or Educational Expedition™ and then uploaded into your family photo album on Trailmix.Net. Trailmix.Net Completion Award Coins are never sold, never given away by Trailmix.Net (ie: for marketing purposes, etc.) are not sold separately, and are protected by copyright.
Where did the idea for Trailmix.Net Scavenger Hunts come from? Trailmix.Net scavenger hunts and expeditions were originally based upon an educational strategy known as Problem Based Learning. In Problem Based Learning, students collaborate in groups to solve unstructured problems. Originally developed in medical schools, common characteristics of Problem Based Learning include: Learning driven by challenging, open-ended problems. Students/Learners work together in small collaborative groups toward common goals Teachers/Parents take on the role as "facilitators" of learning
Because of the collaborative nature of Problem Based Learning, Trailmix.Net Scavenger Hunts and expeditions can be used to develop communication, problem solving, goal setting, and independent learning skills.
How do I upload my completion code? You will only be able to upload a Trailmix.Net Scavenger Hunt Completion Code if you have already licensed your Scavenger Hunt. If you have already licensed your Trailmix.Net Scavenger Hunt, Navigate to your profile and find the link near the bottom of the page that says upload completion code.
Please allow two weeks for shipping of your completion prize.
If after two weeks of uploading your completion code you still have not received your prize, please send an email with your shipping address to admin@trailmix.net.
Can I request the number that appears on my coin? Unfortunately, no. We ship coins in numerical order as scavenger hunt completions occur.
Where can I go to provide feedback on my Scavenger Hunt? If you experienced a problem, please let us know as soon as possible by sending an email to admin@trailmix.net so that we can address the issue. For all other feedback, you can either send an email to the admin address or drop us a note in the Trailmix.Net forums.
