Trailmix.Net Scavenger Hunts are learning games designed for families with children under twelve. Scavenger hunts bring a user to a unique location and present a set of educational riddles. When the user solves all of the riddles, they win a prize. If you are planning to visit Sacramento, you can download our free Old Sacramento scavenger hunt here. Our History:We (Mike and Sara Barlow, the founders of Trailmix.Net) moved to Northern California from Idaho in 1996. Before children, we spent as many weekends and vacations as possible hiking, climbing, and exploring the outdoor recreational opportunities that California has to offer. Together we have camped, backpacked, climbed fourteen thousand foot peaks, completed multi-pitch technical climbing routes, and supported local volunteer Search and Rescue.Once we had children, we learned that outdoor recreation with kids is a whole different ball game that involves completely different goals and logistics. We discovered that outdoor recreation and leisure with kids is all about creating memorable learning opportunities through exploration and discovery. Children are natural explorers. If you provide the right setting and the framework, you can consistently create engaging learning and discovery opportunities. This observation lead to the creation of Casaval Ridge Technologies LLC (our original web and print publishing company) in 2006 and to the Trailmix.Net blog shortly thereafter. At that time Trailmix.Net was a kitchen table operation. We knew that we wanted to build a business around the idea of teaching parents how to create constructive educational experiences, but the ideas, processes and product designs were still in their infancy. Over time, the Trailmix.Net website and product line began to take shape with an official launch of the Trailmix.Net Online Store in the fall of 2008.
In the spring of 2009, we started focusing on our business full time. Although still family owned and operated, we restructured our company as Trailmix.Net, Inc. and began looking for commercial space. After looking at several commercial locations in Sacramento, we settled on our current spot in Old Sacramento.Visit the Trailmix.Net Blog to learn more about Trailmix.Net.The Trailmix.Net Privacy Policy:There are a number of ways that you can get information from Trailmix.Net including signing up for our newsletter and subscribing to the Trailmix.Net blog by email or RSS.
